Matt Green grew up on the backlot of Universal Studios, where his father served as the entertainment director of the world-famous theme park. Surrounded by movie magic from a young age, storytelling became second nature—an early apprenticeship in imagination that would eventually shape a career in film and television. He is a seasoned producer, writer, and director whose professional journey began in the late 90s with music videos and evolved into producing the live-to-tape concert series United We Funk All-Stars, hosted by nationally syndicated radio legend Tom Joyner. He produced No Greater Love, an award-winning inspirational drama released worldwide by Lionsgate. A chance encounter in 1999 with MGM’s head of distribution at a Los Angeles restaurant led to Matt’s first optioned script. That opportunity opened doors to television, where he wrote numerous episodes for the educational kids’ series It Really Happened. He later co-created, co-wrote, and directed the pilot for Typecast, a sharp TV satire starring Dean Cain and Anthony Tyler Quinn. In 2014, Matt was recruited to relaunch and rebuild the film program at The Master’s University in Southern California—where Pastor John MacArthur served as president for over 30 years. Under Matt’s leadership, the Cinema & Digital Arts program has grown by 65% and has been recognized as one of California’s most focused media and film universities. He now speaks across the country on media and worldview engagement. Matt’s feature credits include The Man From Nowhere (2021), starring Nick Searcy, and Matter-Of-Time (2025), starring Sean Astin. He also developed the live-action/animated children’s series Franklin & Beans (2025). In 2024, he co-wrote and directed the suspense thriller The Descent, with its sequel The Descent Part II slated for release in 2026. He currently has multiple films and television series in active development.
