G 39m Shah Malika al-Kamilah was bred as a show horse and is of regal, showring ancestry in the Arabian horse world. Her purebred Arabian parents are five-time champion stallion Atticus ENB and designated show horse mare Om El Shahnoor. Little Kamilah had been entered in futurity competitions long before she was born, but this was not to be. Due to a veterinarian’s unscheduled and unexpected intervention, Kamilah sustained a severe injury that broke her back, injured her spinal cord and paralyzed her back legs when she was only a few weeks old, but the deep Faith of her owner, Angela Alioto, and the incredible skill of the doctors at U.C. Davis was more than enough to overcome the zero percent chance of surgical success that was given. With the help of a medical team led by a Canine Surgeon and several Equine doctors, Kamilah fought her way back to being a thriving filly after receiving an historic, groundbreaking and daring operation along with many months of rehabilitation. Her will to live and surmount the obstacles which fate dealt her is the stuff of legends. Hers is a story of Faith, hope, courage and science. Today, Kamilah is a thriving filly who romps with her mom Shahnoor and doles out kisses all day long. Her adoptive uncles, Zips High Noon DCA “Wyatt”, and Om El Salmaan talk with her and keep a close eye on her. G 1h 52m Kansas City is known for its jazz and blues. But the same forces that shaped those American art forms also led to the development of Black Gospel music. The rich and influential history of Black Gospel music in Kansas City, MO and Kansas City, KS has long been overlooked. In fact, historians say gospel music may be the best window through which to view the development of the Black community in and around Kansas City, MO, and its roots in pre-Civil War Kansas. The film explores this compelling legacy: featuring the music and the stories of the region's pioneering greats. Interviews with historians and scholars reveal a musical and cultural history never presented before. The film shows how the region's gospel legends played key roles in developing gospel music nationally and, further, ushering African American musical traditions into the nation's mainstream culture and entertainment industry. The film explores the importance of Free State Kansas, where slaves fled from Missouri and where thousands of Exodusters trekked north after the failure of Reconstruction in the South. Also explored is the musical legacy of Western University, the first Black college west of the Mississippi River, and how gospel music mixed with the burgeoning jazz scene at 18th & Vine to create Kansas City's distinctive gospel swing. As historian and blues performer Lemuel Sheppard explains it, something about this region "encouraged Black intellect, Black culture and Black art." The film is a journey of discovery, leading viewers through the development of gospel music to a place of better understanding of Black history, and the significant impact played by events in the Midwest. It is, in essence, a cultural archive, preserving the heritage of the region's Black gospel music and its remarkable artists. More than 100 interviews were conducted with Black studies professors, archivists, historians, musicologists, ministers, choral directors, performers and authors. Returning from war as a hero, Vinicius stops at the residence of the retired General Plautius to rest, there, he sees and instantly falls in love with Lygia. A young Christian during the early emergence and persecution of Christians in Rome, Lygia lives by a high set of values and morals and can't fully give her heart to Vinicius until he too lives his life dedicated to good and love. Having to have Lygia, Vinicius enlists the help of his uncle Petronius, a former Governor and very influential member of Nero's high court to help him. Petronius himself is involved in a budding love that is transforming him towards good with his beautiful servant, Eunice. Petronius hatches a plan to get Lygia for Vinicius and speaks to Nero, convincing him to order Lygia to be brought to the palace as property of the Empire, with the eventual plan to have her then given to Vinicius as a present. At one of Nero's extravagant parties, a drunken Vinicius tries to seduce Lygia. Trying to resist his advances, Lygia is saved by her bodyguard Ursus and escapes to her Christian friends. Due to a veterinarian’s unscheduled and unexpected intervention, Kamilah sustained a severe injury that broke her back, injured her spinal cord and paralyzed her back legs when she was only a few weeks old, but the deep Faith of her owner, Angela Alioto, and the incredible skill of the doctors at U.C. Having to have Lygia, Vinicius enlists the help of his uncle Petronius, a former Governor and very influential member of Nero's high court to help him. Petronius himself is involved in a budding love that is transforming him towards good with his beautiful servant, Eunice. Petronius hatches a plan to get Lygia for Vinicius and speaks to Nero, convincing him to order Lygia to be brought to the palace as property of the Empire, with the eventual plan to have her then given to Vinicius as a present. At one of Nero's extravagant parties, a drunken Vinicius tries to seduce Lygia. Trying to resist his advances, Lygia is saved by her bodyguard Ursus and escapes to her Christian friends. Vinicius and Petronius enlist the Greek Chilo to investigate, eventually finding out about her Christian identity and location. While trying to raid the home where Lygia is staying, Vinicius is wounded and knocked unconscious by Ursus. When Vinicius returns to Petronius, he is a changed man, a believer and follower of good. A great fire breaks out in Rome, and although caused by Nero himself, he blames the Christians. Vinicius desperately tries to find and save Lygia as Christians are being executed during the mass games at the arena. In a showdown, Lygia is rescued during the games and reunited with Vinicius in love as Nero and the gluttony of the Empire crumble around them.

G 39m Shah Malika al-Kamilah was bred as a show horse and is of regal, showring ancestry in the Arabian horse world. Her purebred Arabian parents are five-time champion stallion Atticus ENB and designated show horse mare Om El Shahnoor. Little Kamilah had been entered in futurity competitions long before she was born, but this was not to be. Due to a veterinarian’s unscheduled and unexpected intervention, Kamilah sustained a severe injury that broke her back, injured her spinal cord and paralyzed her back legs when she was only a few weeks old, but the deep Faith of her owner, Angela Alioto, and the incredible skill of the doctors at U.C. Davis was more than enough to overcome the zero percent chance of surgical success that was given. With the help of a medical team led by a Canine Surgeon and several Equine doctors, Kamilah fought her way back to being a thriving filly after receiving an historic, groundbreaking and daring operation along with many months of rehabilitation. Her will to live and surmount the obstacles which fate dealt her is the stuff of legends. Hers is a story of Faith, hope, courage and science. Today, Kamilah is a thriving filly who romps with her mom Shahnoor and doles out kisses all day long. Her adoptive uncles, Zips High Noon DCA “Wyatt”, and Om El Salmaan talk with her and keep a close eye on her. Her real-life story continues to spread each day, and Kamilah has a devoted and actively supportive following of circa 50,000 people on social media alone (that we know of) with many more fans to come, with the advent of the recent front-page article in Italy’s number one print and digital daily newspaper IL CORRIERE DELLA SERA, her new website: kamilahthemiracle.com, and other articles such as a feature article in the May, 2024 edition of ARABIAN HORSE WORLD magazine are under development. Kamilah has also been invited to help present her story at the Equine Wellness Pavillion at the FIERACAVALLI International Horse Show in Verona, Italy in November, 2024. Her appeal to mothers and fathers, grandmothers and grandfathers, children, horse people, animal people and the general public is extraordinary!

The rich and influential history of Black Gospel music in Kansas City, MO and Kansas City, KS has long been overlooked. In fact, historians say gospel music may be the best window through which to view the development of the Black community in and around Kansas City, MO, and its roots in pre-Civil War Kansas. The film explores this compelling legacy: featuring the music and the stories of the region's pioneering greats. Interviews with historians and scholars reveal a musical and cultural history never presented before. The film shows how the region's gospel legends played key roles in developing gospel music nationally and, further, ushering African American musical traditions into the nation's mainstream culture and entertainment industry. The film explores the importance of Free State Kansas, where slaves fled from Missouri and where thousands of Exodusters trekked north after the failure of Reconstruction in the South. Also explored is the musical legacy of Western University, the first Black college west of the Mississippi River, and how gospel music mixed with the burgeoning jazz scene at 18th & Vine to create Kansas City's distinctive gospel swing. As historian and blues performer Lemuel Sheppard explains it, something about this region "encouraged Black intellect, Black culture and Black art." The film is a journey of discovery, leading viewers through the development of gospel music to a place of better understanding of Black history, and the significant impact played by events in the Midwest. It is, in essence, a cultural archive, preserving the heritage of the region's Black gospel music and its remarkable artists. More than 100 interviews were conducted with Black studies professors, archivists, historians, musicologists, ministers, choral directors, performers and authors. Featured experts include Anthony Heilbut, Robert Marovich, Randal Jelks, Jessie Carney Smith, Katherine Karlin, William Worley, James Boyer, Chuck Haddix, Lemuel Sheppard and Charles Coulson. Featured artists include Eva Jessye, Etta Moten, Nora Holt, Edward Boatner, Genetter Bradley, Alma Whitney, Michael Charles, Bennie Moten, Count Basie, Chrystal Rucker, Reggie Watkins, Charles Williams, Angela Ward, Asaph Ward, Bishop Cortez Vaughn and international Gospel Music Conductor Isaac Cates, who also narrates the film.
